Just received proofs from the Dana Center brochure prior to its going to press. Let's see if I can upload both the image and the accompanying copy for our fall gig there.
JAZZ ON AN AUTUMN EVENING
With The GleasonBrown Jazz Quintet
Another autumn happily means another evening of eminently listenable jazz music at the Saint Anselm College Dana Center with the college’s “house band,” the GleasonBrown Jazz Quintet. Ed Gleason and Monte Brown, members of the English and Philosophy departments, respectively, and keepers of the jazz flame on the Hilltop, celebrate their 10th year of jazz performances at the Dana Center by presenting their version of some of the more recognizable tunes from jazz’s vast repertoire. Monte on bass and vocals, Ed on sax, and special guest Chris Klaxton on trumpet are the frontliners.
Join us. And don’t be surprised if several of the evening’s song selections reflect jazz’s fascination with this wonderful transitional season: think of the adaptations of “Autumn Leaves,” “Autumn in New York,” “Early Autumn,” “Autumn Nocturne” and “September Song.”
The GleasonBrown Jazz Quintet is pleased to announce that, opening for them on this special occasion, will be Saint Anselm’s own Student Jazz Band led by Chris Klaxton.
Concert: Saturday, October 3 @ 8 pm

... been a long time since I "dropped in" on the blog function, but let it be clear: I'm still here. And still gigging: next Friday at the College, my group will be featuring the Boston-based jazz organist Rusty Scott (7 pm at the Chapel Arts Center).
